TIMBER
The standard timber used is hand selected OAK, with a light tan to warm brown colour. It is usually straight grained, hard, heavy and durable. All the wood used is prime quality and kiln dried.
In addition to the standard timber, Quarter sawn Oak with its characteristic silver grain figure, or Pippy oak with light to heavy Pip/Burr can be supplied as an alternative on the facing boards.
For economy, IDIGBO can be used, light to yellowish brown in colour, straight to slightly irregular grain and of medium texture. Medium weight, durable and stable, Idigbo accepts stain, oli or wax finishing.
